Logan Lerman Plays Coy On Poseidon Fan Casting in Percy Jackson Disney Reboot

The original Percy Jackson, Logan Lerman, in Rick Riordan’s initial movie franchise has always been speculated by fans to inevitably have his own comeback in the Disney series as the father, Poseidon. Given the right timing of returning in an older, “godly parent” role in Percy Jackson and the Last Olympians, fans are wrapped around the idea of his eventual appearance. However, Lerman has unfortunate news.

Recently speaking with Esquire, Lerman admits no Rick Riordan or Percy Jackson and the Last Olympians crew has ever called him up for any role before. The 30-year-old actor even adds that he has no interest in taking the role, should he be offered the role of Poseidon. Check out his full quote below:

“Oh no. No one’s hit me up about it, and I don’t think I’m right for that, anyways.” Lerman said, “But I also just don’t even know if it’s interesting to me, in terms of: I don’t even know what that would be.”

The Bullet Train actor continues on to disperse any form of rumor that might form behind his words. Despite not wanting to disappoint fans on this “dream cast”, the actor reiterates he doesn’t know anything.

“[But] there’s not a secret that’s waiting to be announced or something like that.” Lerman said, “I do get asked a lot about it, and I hate to disappoint and be like, no, I don’t know anything, and I’m not involved, but that’s the truth. I don’t know anything about it.”

Rick Riordan also answered this speculation last year, when he stated that the whole point of his involvement in Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians is having a “completely different” and “fresh start” for his franchise. The author continued on to say that he seeks having an “entirely new cast” in which “There will be no crossover casting between the movies and the new TV show.”

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to be released on Disney+ in early 2024.
