Live-Action Masters of the Universe Movie Aiming for September Start

The live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe may be having a hard time getting off the ground, but it looks like things are finally going to get started now that we're looking at a Netflix release. Just in, we have a tentative start date for production of the film.

According to Geek Vibes Nation, the movie is aiming for a September start. Here's the post:

Until we get an official announcement, we should just really take this with a grain of salt. A start date had been announced for Masters of the Universe before, but none have been able to push through. Hopefully this time we won't get any more false alarms.

If anything, the Masters of the Universe brand has been slowly picking up steam. Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is a hit, and Kevin Smith is set to return to the animated continuity with his Masters of the Universe animated show on Netflix. With that series coming out, I'm sure the hype is going to start building up for this live-action movie.

Personally, I think He-Man is all about the spectacle. If you ask me, they should have had George Miller take on the film, as I feel that Masters of the Universe with a Mad Max aesthetic would look amazing. Then again, we'll just have to wait and see what Netflix has planned for their adaptation of the film.

No official release date has been set for Masters of the Universe, but we could be looking at a release sometime in 2021.
