Lin Manuel Miranda Set to Make an Appearance in The Rise Of Skywalker

The much-awaited end to the Skywalker Saga is less than a month away and amidst all the excitement and anticipation, Lucasfilm has released all-new behind-the-scenes footage of The Rise of Skywalker. The short clip encompasses a look back on how the franchise has grown since its first release in 1977, in addition to several interesting tidbits, and a cameo from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Skipping 53 seconds into the video, you can see Miranda donning a Resistance outfit together with a new addition to the cast, Naomi Ackie. He was previously credited for having worked with JJ Abrams for co-writing "Jabba Flow," the music in Maz Kanata's cantina in The Force Awakens.

Comicbook.com recalls Miranda's thoughts on the song: "[The song] is actually written in Huttese, Jabba the Hutt's language. And I actually went to this website that had a Huttese glossary of terms, and [my song] translates to 'No, lover lover, it wasn't me.' It's literally a Shaggy intergalactic remix!"

It is unclear how much we'll be seeing of Miranda or what exactly his cameo will be, but one thing is for sure: he won't be alone. The clip also reveals British singer Ed Sheeran in a Stormtrooper costume.

According to a report from The Independent, Sheeran had reportedly filmed a secret cameo at Pinewood Studios together with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac last December. This isn't the first time the singer will be briefly appearing in a much-beloved saga, if you may recall he also appeared in an episode of Game of Thrones back in 2017. But again, like Miranda, no one knows the prominence of his expected appearance.

The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20th.
