Likely Star Wars IX Fan Theory Suggests Rey’s Real Parents Could Be Han And Qi’Ra

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) may have revealed Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parents as nobodies during the aftermath of the Snoke throne battle in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, however, some Star Wars fans still cling on to the hope that Episode IX might retcon the reveal and feature Rey's true, Jedi-related parents.

While some still link the Jakku Orphan to Obi-Wan Kenobi (in the prequels Ewan McGregor in the original films Alec Guinness ) and to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a new theory by Esquire pins Rey's parentage on Solo: A Star Wars Story's Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Qi'Ra (Emilia Clarke).

Though the theory seems a bit unfounded, it says that it's possible that Han could have had an affair during the times he was separated from Leia, one that he could have had with his first love, Qi'Ra.

Before the release of Solo, many expected Han to lose Qi'Ra to a fight, however, the character remains alive and well at the very end of the movie, abandoning Han to work her way up the Crimson Dawn.

Though fans ought to take this new theory with a grain of salt, it is possible Han could have made his way back to Qi'Ra when times were hard with his wife, and according to the theory, the smuggler could have fathered a child (Rey) without even knowing it. It isn't that farfetched – Han does seem like the type to up and leave without knowing that he actually got someone pregnant.

What do you think of this new theory regarding Rey's parentage? Could Han and Qi'Ra be Rey's parents?
