Lightyear: New Trailer Highlights Chris Evans' Space Ranger

From his iconic lines “Avengers, assemble,” and “I can do this all day,” we will be hearing another notable phrase from Chris Evans as he takes on the role of the beloved Space Ranger from Toy Story in his character’s very own origin story, Lightyear, and Disney and Pixar just dropped a new trailer which highlights the actor’s rendition of Buzz.

A trailer for Lightyear has been dropped by Disney and Pixar on one of the biggest events in Hollywood, the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday night and while another commotion stole the show, had Buzz Lightyear been there, he would’ve definitely settled the matter before it heated up.

Chris Evans has been a darling ever since he debuted in showbusiness and since then, he has made his roles his own, like Captain America to which he is most known for. This time, he comes back as another hero, voicing everyone’s favorite Space Ranger, Buzz Lightyear, in his own titular movie, and the trailer just shows how Chris Evans planned to make the character his own version, different from Tim Allen’s.

When Lightyear was announced, many fans got eager for the solo spinoff movie of the beloved character and it would be about the origins of Buzz Lightyear, the person, not the toy, in an intergalactic adventure wherein he got known for, inspiring an action figure patterned onto him.

Chris Evans spearheads the voice cast of Lightyear as the titular character and he would be joined by Taika Waititi, Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, James Brolin, Peter Sohn, Uzo Aduba, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Efren Ramirez, and Mary McDonald-Lewis. Angus McLane sits on the director’s chair while the head of Pixar Animation Studios, Pete Docter pens the script.

Lightyear will be released on June 17, 2022. It is yet unknown whether the film would be out on theaters or on Disney Plus exclusively.
