Leonardo Dicaprio - Batman vs Superman

In a recent interview, Zack Snyder revealed that he was in talks with legendary actor Leonardo DiCaprio about playing the role of Lex Luthor. Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned between the two parties.

2016's Superman V Batman Dawn of Justice could have starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Superman's arch-enemy, Lex Luthor. As we all know, they cast Jesse Eisenberg as the manipulative Lex Luthor, but there were rumours that the studio wanted to cast Tom Hanks or Adam Driver instead.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Zach Snyder mentioned that he talked with Leonardo DiCaprio about playing Lex Luthor in Superman V Batman Dawn of Justice. Zach said the actor responded to the offer: "Eh, you know…I don't know."

As we all know, Leonardo DiCaprio is a huge comic guy; his dad was an underground comic artist, so there's no shock there. Although he declined the offer, he also pitched the idea of Superman fighting the Justice League. Leo's pitch was brought to life when Superman faces Batman after being manipulated by Lex Luthor.

Leonardo DiCaprio has been cast in popular movies like Titanic, Wolf of Wall Street, The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, Inception, and many more blockbusters. Still, we've never seen him star in a superhero movie. Maybe in the future, we'll get to experience that.
