LEGO Star Wars Celebrates 20 Years with New Sets

Probably one of the biggest and most successful branches of LEGO is Star Wars and the company is celebrating over 20 years working with the brand. Just in, we have some photos of some upcoming 20th Anniversary sets which show offsets from both the Original Trilogy and the Prequels.

What's cool is, each set also comes with a mini figure of the original designs of the characters back when LEGO Star Wars started out. We're going to get original versions of Han, Leia, Luke, Vader, and Lando. There are also some choice modern mini figures like young Anakin and Padme, Rebel pilot Dak, and bounty hunters 4-LOM and Zuckuss.

If I could only have one gripe, it's that we don't get anything new for the sequel trilogy. My guess is that those sets haven't had enough time to merit any remakes, and Lucasfilm isn't ready to show off any leaked sets for Episode IX. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan of the OT timeline, and I'm sure the prequels also have their diehard LEGO fans as well. I say it's about time since we got a new podracer for Anakin.

This 20th Anniversary series looks great, and I'm hoping we get some more of it down the line. I wouldn't want to stop at just these five sets. Hopefully, we get some more announced in the future; most likely during Star Wars Celebration in April.

The next Star Wars film, Episode IX comes out Dec. 20.
