Lee Jung Jae might be starring in his first Hollywood project after being courted to join Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU.)

Following the continued success of Netflix’s Squid Game, the veteran South Korean star is onto another big project, this time with Marvel Studios.

Will Lee Jung Jae’s First Hollywood Project be With MCU?

According to reports, the award-winning actor and his team are in discussion with Marvel regarding an upcoming team-up.

However, amid the surprising news, there’s no confirmation yet from the MCU representatives as well as Lee Jung Jae’s agency.

Marvel Studios has always been fond of Korean talents and has featured various Hallyu stars in their projects.

The first Korean star who appeared in an MCU film is Claudia Kim who played Dr. Helen Cho in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

It was then followed by Ma Dong Seok, also known by his American name Don Lee, who worked alongside Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kit Harrington, and more for the movie The Eternals.

To recall, Ma Dong Seok, who is also famous for his role in the hit movie Train to Busan, played Gilgamesh, the strongest and kindest member of genetically-engineered Eternals.

Interestingly, another Hallyu star who made it as a cast member of an MCU film is none other than Park Seo Joon.

The Itaewon Class star flew to the United States in September 2021 to film the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, MCU representatives and even Park Seo Joon’s team were tight-lipped about his role but he will officially join the forthcoming Captain Marvel 2 with Brie Larson.

If Lee Jung Jae agrees to Marvel Studio’s offer, he will be the fourth Korean celebrity to appear in an MCU project.
