Lee Jung Jae Won Best Male Actor at the SAG Awards 2022

South Korea's renowned actor proved his supremacy in Hollywood after taking home his first-ever SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.

Lee Jung Jae defeated Succession stars Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong, as well as The Morning Show star Billy Crudup who are nominated in the said category.

During his acceptance speech, the 49-year-old actor expressed his deep gratitude towards the Squid Game team, SAG-AFTRA awards and the "global audience for their love for the Netflix series," per People.

Moreover, the award-winning South Korean star mentioned that winning the SAG Awards is indeed a huge thing that has happened to him.

"I did write something, but I don't think I'll get to reading it," he said, seemingly overwhelmed with his latest achievement.

In the 9 part episode series, the Chief of Staff star took on the role of player 456 Seong Gi Hoon, who is among the hundreds of debt-ridden participants in a survival-themed game.

Interestingly, apart from Lee Jung Jae's SAG Awards 2022 trophy, the actor has also signed under America's most prominent entertainment agency, Creative Artists Agency.

CAA is the home for Hollywood's brightest stars, including Tom Hanks, Meryll Streep, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, award-winning director Steven Spielberg, and more.

It only means that the 49-year-old star might be starring in more US-based projects in the future.
