Lee Do Hyun To Star in New Family Drama By Beyond Evil Director

Lee Do Hyun might star in a back-to-back K-drama in 2023.

Besides his team-up with Hallyu queen Song Hye Kyo, the rising star is selected to headline the upcoming K-drama Bad Mother opposite Ra Mi Ran.

Lee Do Hyun Courted to Star in Family Drama, Bad Mother

Helmed by Beyond Evil director Shim Na Yeon and penned by writer Bae Se Young, Bad Mother follows the story of a mother whose life revolves around her son.

Unfortunately, the mother and son faced a devastating fate that turned their life upside down.

In a report cited by Sports DongA, the 27-year-old actor has been chosen as one of the lead stars who will be playing the role of Kang Ho, who fulfills his mother’s wish to become a prosecutor.

Award-winning actress Ra Mi Ran will be his on-screen mother, Young Soon.

However, at the height of his achievements, he gets caught up in an accident resulting in him losing all his memory.

Bad Mother is set to illustrate the unconditional love of a mother to her son and their affectionate connection towards each other.

If Lee Do Hyun officially accepts the offer, the upcoming family drama will be his next project after The Glory with Song Hye Kyo.


Lee Do Hyun New Drama: Actor Joins Song Hye Kyo’s Revenge Series, The Glory

In July, reports noted that the cast lineup for the upcoming K-drama The Glory has been confirmed.

The series, penned by Kim Eun Sook who wrote the smash hit K-dramas like Goblin, Descendants of the Sun, The Heirs, and Secret Garden, follows the story of a woman who was forced to give up her dream to become an architect after she was victimized by school bullies.

However, years later, she had the opportunity to seek revenge after she became the homeroom teacher of her bully’s kid.

The Glory cast includes Song Hye Kyo as the protagonist Moon Dong Eun, who seeks revenge against the perpetrators who brought her misery.

Joining her is Lee Do Hyun as Joo Yeo Jung, a bubbly and bright student who appears happy on the outside but feels tormented on the inside.

In addition, viewers get to see Lim Ji Yeon as the antagonist Park Yeon Jin, who is the person behind Moon Dong Eun’s suffering during their high school days.

However, her dark past is set to hunt her.

Portraying her on-screen husband is Jung Sung Il as Ha Do Young, the CEO of a major construction company who falls into the trap set by Moon Dong Eun.

Meanwhile, Park Sung Hoon took the role of Jeon Jae Joon, the self-absorbed who joined Park Yeon Jin in bullying Moon Dong Eun.

Lastly, the versatile actress Yeom Hye Ran plays domestic violence victim Kang Hyun Nam who has a deep connection with Moon Dong Eun.

The Glory is directed by Ahn Gil Ho, the genius behind the blockbuster K-drama Stranger, Memories of the Alhambra, Record of Youth and Happiness.

Lee Do Hyun and Song Hye Kyo’s new drama recently celebrated the end of  its filming and is set to air on Netflix sometime in 2023.
