After her K-drama comeback Now We Are Breaking Up, Song Hye Kyo will headline a highly anticipated new series, The Glory.

Following her two-year hiatus on the small screen, the Hallyu star continues to show her supremacy starring from one series to another.

After the SBS series officially wrapped up in January, Ilgan Sports via Soompi reported in the same month that the 40-year-old actress is set to star in a new K-drama.

She will be reunited with renowned screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, who penned Descendants of the Sun starring Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki.

Helmed by Stranger and Memories of the Alhambra director Ahn Gil Ho, The Glory will be produced under Hwa & Dam Pictures and Studio Dragon.

Song Hye Kyo New Drama 2022: The Glory Release Date, Cast and Everything We Know So Far

The upcoming tvN K-drama follows the story of a homeroom teacher who is fueled by her revenge.

She was forced to drop out of school after being victimized by school violence. Unfortunately, this means that she had to give up her lifelong dream to become an architect.

Years later, she became a high school teacher and learned that the perpetrator's son was her student.

Song Hye Kyo took on the role of Moon Dong Eun, the revenge-driven homeroom teacher whose goal is to avenge and get back at her perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Lee Do Hyun will portray the male lead Joo Yeo Jung and will be Dong Eun's subject of her revenge.

Joining The Glory cast are Im Ji Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, and He is a Psychometric star Shin Ye Eun as the Young Song Hye Kyo.

tvN has yet to officially announce The Glory release date, but the upcoming K-drama has reportedly started production and aims to premiere at the end of 2022 or in the first half of 2023.

Song Hye Kyo on Her New Drama

During her appearance in Harper's Bazaar's March 2022 issue, the 40-year-old A-lister gets honest about The Glory, which is her first ever thriller K-drama.

Song Hye Kyo tells the publication that she is "looking forward to the new expressions and emotions that will come out while acting."

Moreover, the Hallyu star expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the staff, especially "Kim Eun Sook, who writes very strongly, and director Ahn Gil Ho" whom she "can trust and follow."

Being in the industry for over a decade, Song Hye Kyo admitted that she still feels "nervous," pointing out that her character is changing as she gets older, adding, "that's why I think acting is getting harder and harder."
