LE SSERAFIM Returns With Unforgiven

Before the official release at 6 p.m. on Monday, LE SSERAFIM members appeared in a press showcase in Seoul, during which they expressed their excitement to promote the new album.

Kazuha, per The Korea Herald, noted that time truly flies as they are already marking their second comeback. Meanwhile, Huh Yunjin shared how LE SSERAFIM's new album is different from the previous one.

"If we had manifested our confidence in the past two EPs, we focused on showing our dynamic sides through this album and our various vocal colors through the different genres," she went on.

LE SSERAFIM's Unforgiven tells the story of women's desire to get out of the world's rules and create their own path.

Chaewon explained that LE SSERAFIM does need "any forgiveness through the lyrics."

The album's title track samples the main theme of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly soundtrack. HYBE's executive producer and founder, Bang Si Hyuk, reportedly suggested the idea of sampling the movie soundtrack.

LE SSERAFIM's Plagiarism Accusations

Despite the explanation, LE SSERAFIM's Unforgiven received plagiarism accusations. Still, during the media showcase, Chaewon said their works are "unique creations."

Twitter and online community users recently claimed that LE SSERAFIM's title track sounds similar to Spanish singer Rosalía's song, Chicken Teriyaki. They added that both songs have the same melody and rhythm.

"We think our songs and concepts are unique creations that convey our own stories and messages. We would be grateful if you would think of them as such," Chaewon continued.

LE SSERAFIM debuted in May 2022, but it was supposed to debut with six members. Kim Garam, who was originally part of the lineup, was ousted from the group and the company following bullying accusations against her.
