Angie Harmon has stated that she is open to reprising her classic role of Abbie Carmichael on Law & Order Season 22. From Season 9 to Season 11, she played Carmichael on Dick Wolf's long-running crime program, alongside Sam Waterston's renowned DA Jack McCoy.

In an interview with ET, Harmon says she would be thrilled to return to her character. She admits that when the program was revived in 2021, she reached out to them and told them that she would "love to maybe do an arc or something."

Harmon also has great memories of her role, stating she would "love to revisit Abbie," characterizing the assistant district attorney as "just so fun and wonderful."
Harmon was not recast for the show's revived Season 21 in 2021, but if she re-joins for the recently announced Law & Order Season 22, she will join Sam Waterston and Anthony Anderson.
Along with the return of Dick Wolf to the executive producer's chair, the two actors returned their roles as Jack McCoy and Kevin Barnard. If Harmon also returns, Law & Order Season 22 will have added another nostalgic feather to its hat.

She had a brief period where she featured in a few films after appearing on Law & Order, which made her somewhat of a household name. This featured the Frankie Muniz adolescent comedy Agent Cody Banks, where she portrayed a CIA handler and an appearance as Rose in the revisionist western Seraphim Falls.
She eventually returned to television as Jane Rizzoli in Rizzoli & Isles, opposite Sasha Alexander's Maura Isles.
Law & Order Season 22 release date
NBC has announced that the show is a part of its 2022 fall TV schedule as part of an all-Law & Order Thursday night programming block.
Law & Order will air on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Law & Order: SVU at 9 p.m. and Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10 p.m. Last year’s NBC fall lineup began on Monday, Sept. 20. If a similar timeline holds, look for Law & Order Season 22 on Thursday, Sept. 22
