Marvel Cinematic Studios is currently pushing on the supernatural side with Moon Knight and several upcoming projects, including Mahershala Ali's Blade and Disney+'s upcoming Halloween special Werewolf By Night. Although Werewolf By Night reportedly started filming last month, Marvel hasn't yet revealed any confirmation about the project.
Disney+'s 'secret project' may be the worst kept secret in the MCU at the moment, as several rumors have continuously swirled around revealing castings, filming details, and even the show's release date.
Most recently, Latino star Gael Garcia was reportedly cast as Jack Russell aka Werewolf By Night. Russel got his werewolf origins from WandaVision's Darkhold, which will return in MCU's highly-anticipated film, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
Following Gael Garcia's casting in the titular role, another report indicates that Laura Donnelly will join Garcia as Nina Price or famously known as Vampire by Knight.
However, a new report from The Cosmic Circus claims that Donnelly will instead star as monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone in Disney+'s Halloween special Werewolf By Night.
Now, who is Elsa Bloodstone?
Laura Donnelly's Elsa Bloodstone is the daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone. Like her father, she is a monster hunter in Marvel Comics, and her powers include superhuman strength, speed, durability, endurance, healing, and immunity to vampire bites.
Given Elsa Bloodstone's role as the monster hunter, Donelly might be playing a villain for the titular monster. In Marvel Comics, Elsa Bloodstone is originally a member of the Midnight Sons. Now that Moon Knight is the MCU's first leap in offering the first character of Marvel's supernatural side, and with upcoming projects like Blade and Werewolf By Night, it looks like a live-action adaptation of Midnight Sons is coming soon, and Donnelly might make it to the list.
Werewolf By Night is rumored to premiere on Disney+ this year's Halloween.
