Latest Wonder Woman 1984 Set Photos Recreates Smithsonian Institution Annual Fundraiser

Shazam might be the most hyped up DC movie next year but there is still plenty of excitement to be had for Wonder Woman 1984. The sequel to 2017's acclaimed Wonder Woman, it will take place during the Cold War and features Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, one of the character's biggest foes from the comics. It will also feature Chris Pine, though his appearance is going to be an odd one since he died in the first film.

Though the latest set photos don't reveal anything new about Cheetah or Pine's Steve Trevor, it does continue Wonder Woman's love for art, which was teased in Justice League. Thanks to the Wonder Woman HQ account on Twitter, we now know that one of the film's settings takes place during the Smithsonian Institution Annual Fundraiser.

As fans can see, it looks like a pretty fancy event with nice cars and people in first-world party clothes. We even get to see Gal Gadot in a wonderful dress, which means that we will likely get an action sequence with her in this setting. It's not yet clear if this will involve Cheetah or some mooks but it should be fun nonetheless.

Only time will tell if Wonder Woman 1984 lives up to its predecessor, which might have been a tad bit overrated but is still a quality film and better than both Justice League and Batman V Superman.

Wonder Woman 1984 comes out on November 1, 2019.
