The new Star Wars movies have always done a solid job of paying tribute to the older movies and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is no exception. They're already bringing back the bad old Emperor Palpatine to cause chaos amongst the galaxy once again, with recent tv spots revealing that he's been the one corrupting Kylo Ren, which is hardly surprising given how he's always been a shady dude.
Well, we recently got a new poster for The Rise of Skywalker and it pays tribute to Star Wars: Episode VI and we don't mean The Return of The Jedi. When LucasFilm was still trying to figure out the name, there was a time when the movie was called Star Wars: Revenge of The Jedi. Pretty dark huh? You can see why they decided to change it since that title makes you think that the movie has Luke go evil.
Funny how we haven't had a video game or book called Revenge of The Jedi yet. That would be pretty cool if I'm being honest.
It's kind of cool that they would decide to pay tribute to a poster that is pretty rare and expensive, though a more imaginative poster would have also been appreciated. Still, this movie should be a fascinating one, given how it will end the current Skywalker Saga as we know it.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out on December 20.
