Lars Mikkelsen is NOT playing Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars' live-action universe. The 58-year-old Danish actor is finally coming out to break his silence on the years-long rumor that he's been cast in the MandoVerse as the menacing blue-skinned villain.

When the character was surprisingly referenced by Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian's second season, fans were delighted as Thrawn is one of the characters a lot of them have been wanting to see get a live-action treatment. Mikkelsen's casting also seemed like a no-brainer given his previous attachment to the part but it turns out that all the rumors surrounding his MandoVerse involvement are false.

In a new interview with Express, the Star Wars Rebels voice actor finally addressed the rumors surrounding his potential involvement in Ahsoka and chances are, you won't like his answer. According to Mikkelsen, while he'd certainly be down to portraying the role again, Lucasfilm hasn't reached out to him, suggesting he's not the Thrawn we'll see in the upcoming MandoVerse show.

He said: "I am aware of that, yes...Well, I haven’t had the offer. But, yes, sure."

Of course, Lucasfilm much like any major studio has also been notorious for its level of secrecy so despite the actor's latest claims, there's an actual chance that Mikkelsen is just trying to play coy.

I mean, several reputable sources have already reiterated that he's in fact been cast in Ahsoka and I don't think Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will drop the ball on this one. But then again, Mena Massoud was heavily rumored to have been cast as Ezra Bridger in the MandoVerse but the role ended up elsewhere so I guess only time will tell.

Star Wars' Ahsoka series is slated for release later this year on Disney+.
