Kumail Nanjiani In Talks To Join Angelina Jolie In MCU's The Eternals


It looks like Marvel Studios isn't slowing down when it comes to Phase 4. Kumail Nanjiani is reportedly in negotiations to appear alongside Angelina Jolie in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick The Eternals.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nanjiani is currently in talks to join the cast of The Eternals. For now, the role that the Twilight Zone star has been offered has not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, there are speculations that Nanjiani could play yet another Eternal or perhaps a Deviant in the MCU film.

Nanjiani is certainly on a roll this year. In addition to starring in the first episode of Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone series, the Silicon Valley comedian will appear alongside Marvel stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Men In Black International. Nanjiani will also be working with Guardians of the Galaxy actors Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan in Stuber. It certainly looks like he is well on his way to joining the MCU.

Interestingly, the report somehow confirmed that Jolie will play Sersi in The Eternals. Considering early reports that the film will focus on the character, it's no surprise that the Academy Award winner will be given the lead role.

In the comic books, Sersi is an Eternal who enjoys the company of humankind. She is said to be the inspiration behind the sorceress Circe in Homer's The Odyssey. It's certainly a fitting role for Jolie and we can't wait to see her in action soon.

The Eternals will be directed by Chloe Zhao and is expected to begin production in August this year.
