Sony Pictures continues to build its slate of Marvel films. Following the news that Olivia Wilde would direct a possible Spider-Woman film, a new movie featuring one of Spider-Man's deadliest enemies is eyeing Triple Frontier director J.C. Chandor!

Deadline reports that Chandor is in talks to helm the Kraven the Hunter movie. Plot details are scarce as of now but The Equalizer's Richard Wenk has penned the screenplay. Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are producing the movie. It is unknown whether Chandor's film or Wilde's will go first. Should Chandor close the deal, this would mark his first time taking on a major studio tentpole, and a comic book movie at that.

Kraven a.k.a Sergei Kravinoff is one of the wall-crawler's most infamous foes. A world-class hunter, Kraven made his first appearance in 1964's The Amazing Spider-Man #15, and fans have been intrigued by the character since.

The untitled Kraven the Hunter film is the latest project in the works for the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Aside from Wilde's project, S.J. Clarkson has reportedly signed on to direct the Madame Web films, while Marc Guggenheim will pen a Jackpot movie.

There's no word yet about who'll potentially star the Kraven film, a release date wasn't set as well. The next SPUMC films to look forward to are the Jared Leto-led film Morbius and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, set to arrive in 2021.
