Komi Can't Communicate Season 2 Confirms New Student's Arrival


We already know that Komi Can't Communicate Season 2 is coming later this April. So what can we expect in the anime's second season? It looks like Shoko Komi will be making yet another friend and we just got our first glimpse at the new character!

The official Komi Can't Communicate Twitter account has shared an awesome look at the new character who will debut in Season 2 along with the voice actor who will play him. Although other details about the character were not immediately revealed, fans of the manga and live-action movie adaptation are quick to recognize the new student from Itan Private High School. The new character is Makoto Katai who makes his debut in Chapter 76 in the manga. In the manga, Makoto was a lanky boy who decided to work out to avoid being bullied and ended up with a sturdy frame. With his stern look and blond hair, he is usually mistaken for a delinquent but is actually the complete opposite.

Makoto has not yet appeared in the first season of Komi Can't Communicate but the character showed up in the live-action adaptation of the manga and was played by Junpei Mizobata. He will be voiced by Shinichiro Kamio in Komi Can't Communicate Season 2.

Komi Can't Communicate is based on the manga by Tomohito Oda which was initially released as a one-shot chapter on Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday. It would later be serialized in the same publication and get an anime adaptation as well as a live-action film.

The story follows Hitohito Tadano, an average schoolboy who discovers that the school's cool and popular beauty Shoko Komi actually suffers from a severe communication disorder. As then bond, Komi admits to Tadano that she dreams of making 100 friends and he immediately sets out to help her achieve her goal.

Komi Can't Communicate Season 2 is reportedly set to premiere on April 6, 2022.
