Klassic Character Kabal Revealed for Mortal Kombat 11

Resurrected as a twisted, evil version of himself, Kabal now serves the NetherRealm and pledges to destroy all other realms.

NetherRealm Studios is gearing for the return of Mortal Kombat this April, and besides some new characters coming to the game, we've been getting confirmed appearances of some that have been with the title since the very beginning. The latest character to be ‘konfirmed' is former Black Dragon leader Kabal.

Kabal was introduced to the game way back in Mortal Kombat 3, but the last time he was playable was in MK9 which came out back in 2012. He did have a glorified cameo in the last MK game, but a lot of fans were pretty bummed that he didn't turn out to be an unlockable character.

In the original lore, Kabal was a bad guy turned good. By the time MK9 came out, he was the former partner of Stryker before he was horribly disfigured. He was killed by Sindel but was resurrected by Quan Chi to do his bidding. For now, it looks like the game is keeping to that story where Kabal is a resurrected hero who has been turned to evil.

The roster still continues to grow for Mortal Kombat 11, and so far we have the likes of Sub-Zero, Raiden, Scorpion, Baraka, Sonya Blade, Scarlet, and Shao Khan as part of the roster. Kano has also been confirmed, plus a new character in the form of Geras.

Mortal Kombat 11 comes out for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
