Kingsman Prequel The King's Man Gets Epic First Trailer

We finally got our first trailer for The King's Man, a prequel to Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar's well-received Kingsman series. From what can be seen, this looks like it could be a worthwhile entry in the franchise and could breath new life into Kingsman, especially after the lackluster sequel. There is a lot to look forward to and we can only hope that this ends up being a great little film.

Fans will be happy to know that Matthew Vaughn will return to direct this film, though it looks like we won't be seeing any returning characters. This is set during the days of World War 1 after all, so anyone expecting to see more of Eggsy or Harry Hart will have to wait for the third film. At the least, we have Ralph Fiennes, who should add some gravitas to the flick.

Here's a synopsis for the film:

As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man, directed by Matthew Vaughn, coming to cinemas February 2020.

Now that we have a release window, fans have yet another film to look forward to next year. Though Kingsman was based on a comic book, they never tackled the organization's origin so this is an original tale. No need to hunt down The King's Man #1 or anything silly like that (though we wouldn't be surprised if a comic book based on the story eventually comes out).

The King's Man comes out in February 2020.
