A lot of people have been eagerly awaiting the release of Kingdom Hearts III from Square Enix, but just like every other game from SE, it's been delayed to an indefinite release date. Thanks to the D23 Expo, though, we have a new look at the game, and it confirms that Sora and friends will be battling The Heartless in Andy's Room in Toy Story.
The video also comes with this caption:
"Don't assume your dreams are just fantasy. If you can imagine a world, believe in it…and dive in."
With the tradition of Kingdom Hearts games, III will also be introducing us to new worlds that have been presented in the Disney lore. Besides the confirmation of Toy Story we also know that Sora will be going to the worlds of Tangled and Big Hero 6. There's also the chance that he'll be journeying to Arendelle from Frozen and they might even go a bit meta with Wreck-It Ralph.
This is just me personally, but I kind of wished they went crazier with the toy design for Sora in the Toy Story world. They could have turned him into a Gundam-type plastic model or even made Donald a rubber duck. I would always get excited whenever we travelled to a new world in the games, but this seems kind of lazy.
That's just my opinion anyway.
Kingdom Hearts III still has no specific release date, but the game is expected to come out for PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.
