As promised, E3 2018 has given us the official release date of Kingdom Hearts III. After years of delays and teasers, longtime fans of the franchise can look forward to the game early 2019.

Here's the official announcement:

The game has been announced to come out a bit earlier, but with the way Square Enix is, some fans are just happy to have a release date at all. Personally, I would rather wait a long time for a quality game as compared to getting a half-baked game that came out as promised—looking at you, Star Wars Battlefront 2015.

Like every other entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, KHIII promises to bring us to more Disney locations; this time heavily influenced by Pixar. We have confirmation on a Monsters Inc. world as well as a Toy Story world. We're also going to be visiting the worlds of Big Hero 6 as well as Tangled. Wreck-It Ralph is also said to be in the mix.

Hopefully Square Enix will stick to this announced release date this time around. Fans can only take so many delays when it comes to a highly anticipated game.

Kingdom Hearts III is available for PS4 and Xbox One on Jan. 19, 2019.
