King Charles III made “sadistic” jokes about the “real father” of Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex’s new memoir claimed.
Most, if not all, royal followers are aware that Prince Harry grew up amid public speculation that his true father was the former lover of Princess Diana, Major James Hewitt. The husband of Meghan Markle wrote in his new book called Spare how King Charles III seemingly enjoyed making hurtful comments about Harry’s parentage.
In one part, Prince Harry reportedly wrote:
“Pa liked telling stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire. He’d always end with a burst of philosophizing … Who knows if I’m really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I’m even your real father?”
The brother of Prince William furthered:
“He’d laugh and laugh, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumor circulating just then that my actual father was one of Mummy’s former lovers: Major James Hewitt. One cause of this rumor was Major Hewitt’s flaming ginger hair, but another cause was sadism.”
The imminent memoir of Prince Harry mentioned that King Charles III never spoke to the Duke of Sussex about the James Hewitt rumors directly. The youngest son of Princess Diana also shared that tabloid readers loved the idea that his father was not really the then-Prince Charles.
Prince Harry reportedly added:
“Maybe it made them feel better about their lives that a young prince’s life was laugh-able. Never mind that my mother didn’t meet Major Hewitt until long after I was born.”
In the forthcoming book, Prince Harry reportedly also broke his silence on his stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla, and about his strained relationship with his older brother, Prince William. He allegedly detailed how Prince William hit him during a fight over Meghan Markle and how they urged King Charles III not to marry Camilla.
For starters, Princess Diana was infamously linked to Major James Hewitt for almost five years after they met at a dinner party in 1986, and their alleged affair became global headlines. Hewitt became a controversial figure in the U.K. for his attempts to sell love letters he exchanged with the former wife of King Charles III and was named “Britain’s biggest cad.”
King Charles III has yet to comment on the claims that he joked about not being the real father of Prince Harry. So, avid followers of the royal family should take all these reports with a pinch of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
