Kim Soo Hyun, Jun Ji Hyun, Gong Yoo, And Park Bo Gum: These K-Drama Stars Have The Most Expensive Endorsement Fees

The entertainment industry is so vast that celebrities can have numerous income streams while doing what they are most passionate about. On August 4, TMI News named the K-drama stars with the most expensive endorsement fees, which they get on top of the talent fees they earn from acting.

The Mnet program divulged that Kim Soo Hyun is the K-drama star with the most expensive endorsement fees. It was claimed that the My Love From The Star actor earns 1 billion won or approximately 870,000 USD per CF, which means that his total advertising revenue is around 30 billion won or 26,200 USD.

This comes as no surprise for someone who is also considered as one of South Korea's highest-paid actors. Among his most notable projects are Kimchi Cheese Smile (2007), Dream High (2011), Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), and the popular My Love From The Star (2013), which helped him become a top Hallyu star.

Kim Soo Hyun was also part of the 2015 variety-drama titled The Producer, which earned him three Daesang or Grand Prize. The 33-year-old South Korean actor marked his acting comeback in 2020 through the romance drama series It's Okay To Not Be Okay. He is also set to star in an upcoming thriller drama called One Ordinary Day.

Aside from being the highest-paid Korean actor, Kim Soo Hyun also earned the "King of Product Endorsements" title for being the face of numerous products ranging from automobiles, telecoms, gadgets, clothing to food, and many others. At the moment, he is an ambassador of Hyundai, Haagen Dazs, Samsung, and Coca-Cola.

TMI News also named K-drama superstar Jun Ji Hyun as one of the Korean stars with the most expensive endorsement fees. It was claimed that the Legend of the Blue Sea actress earns 1 billion won or roughly 870,000 USD per CF.

For starters, Jun Ji Hyun rose to fame for her role in the 2021 romantic-comedy series My Sassy Girl, which is one of the highest-grossing K-drama series of all time. She also became a household name after starring in My Love from the Star with Kim Soo Hyun in 2013 and Legend of the Blue Sea with Lee Min Ho in 2016.

Jun Ji Hyun portrays the role of Ashin in the trending Netflix series titled Kingdom. Her undeniable success in film and television made her one of the top Hallyu stars of her generation. She was even named as one of "The Troika," alongside Song Hye Kyo and Kim Tae Hee.

At the moment, Jun Ji Hyun is the face of Samsung, Uniqlo, Paris Baguette, Lotte's Cloud Beer, NEPA, SHESMISS, Rouge & Lounge, Drop Top, FISSLER, HANYUL, and Didier Dubot among many others. She was also the ambassador of Giordano, SK Telecom, Lotte CF, Etude, Hyundai Oilbank, Naver, Olympus, LG, and Coca-cola in the past.

Aside from Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun, Gong Yoo was also named as one of the top K-drama stars with expensive endorsement fees. The Coffee Prince actor, reportedly, charges 700 million won or roughly 611,300 USD per CF.

Gong Yoo became the official ambassador of French luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton in 2017 and has earned more than 17.2 billion won or approximately 15 million USD. The South Korean actor has been endorsing the brand at present. In fact, he opened its newest outlet store in Seoul City in 2020.

The 42-year-old actor is best known for his roles in Coffee Prince (2017) and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016). Gong Yoo also made a number of notable movies such as Train to Busan and The Age of Shadows in 2016, and Silenced in 2011.

Gong Yoo was tapped to endorse some of the biggest brands there are today, including Domino's Pizza, KIA, The Body Shop, Byseries, and Discovery Expedition among many others.

The list would not be complete without Park Bo Hum. The K-drama heartthrob, reportedly, charges 500 million won or around 436,600 USD per CF, making him one of the top Korean actors with the most expensive endorsement fees.

TMI News even stated that the Record of Youth star earned 8.5 billion won or approximately 7.4 million USD from all of his endorsements. Among the brands he promotes are KakaoTalk, K-Swiss, Coca-Cola and Samsung.

Park Bo Gum, who was hailed as the "CF King" in 2017, rose to fame after starring in some notable television series such as Hello Monster in 2015, Love In The Moonlight in 2016, Hyori's Homestay in 2017, Encounter – alongside Song Hye Kyo -- in 2018, Record of Youth and Itaewon Class in 2020.
