Kim Possible Live-Action Gets Its First Teaser

A lot of people weren't on board when they saw the first images for the live-action Kim Possible movie, and now Disney has given us the first trailer and well… you decide how you feel.

Here's the official description from Disney Channel:

Everyday teen hero Kim Possible (Sadie Stanley) and her best friend Ron Stoppable (Sean Giambrone) embark on their freshman year of high school, all while saving the world from evil villains. While Kim and Ron have always been one step ahead of their opponents, navigating the social hierarchy of high school is more challenging than the action-heroes ever imagined. With Drakken (Todd Stashwick) and Shego (Taylor Ortega) lurking in the wings, Kim must rely on her family and friends on Team Possible—Ron, tech-genius Wade (Issac Ryan Brown), new friend Athena (Ciara Wilson), and Rufus, a Naked mole-rat—to stop these super villains!

As a fan of the original, I can understand how some people wouldn't be so keen on this new take. For one, the trailer doesn't even give us a good spotlight on Ron Stoppable, and the VFX for the show looks exactly like what you would expect from a Disney Channel film.

What's more, the series looks like they've made Kim more of a superhero compared to her cartoon version where she was a more down-to-earth spy. Where are the loose cargo pants? WHERE'S RUFUS??

Despite all the hate, I think fans just have to remember that this was made for kids. And if it ever gets anyone to check out the original cartoon, then I think the film has done its job.

Catch Kim Possible on the Disney Channel Feb. 15, 2019.
