Kevin Smith's Howard the Duck Recruits Lea Thompson for Mystery Role

Of all the Marvel animated shows coming to Hulu, a lot of the hype and excitement seems to be on Howard the Duck. Aside from the fact that this character has appeared in two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, it also has the wonderful Kevin Smith working on it, who, in case you don't know, is a huge comic book fan.

In fact, he's a fan of geek media in general as Smith went out of his way to get a star from the original Howard the Duck movie to play someone in the animated series. That someone is none other than Lea Thompson, who played Howard's love interest in the so bad its good movie. Her role has yet to be revealed but it should be someone big, though Smith is calling it a mystery role.

Despite the movie's reputation, Thompson has sort of been a fan for the character. She has not only shown interest in directing a full-blown movie for the movie but has allowed herself to be in one of the Howard the Duck issues written by Chip Zdarsky. It was really cool seeing her appear in the comic and knowing that she will be in this series is really neat.

Currently, there is no release date for the animated series, though we can only hope that this Howard the Duck show is of quality. Howard will also be joined by M.O.D.O.K., Hit-Monkey, and other C-list Marvel characters on Hulu.
