Kevin Smith Reveals if He Will Direct an MCU or Star Wars Film

Kevin Smith might be one of the most well-known directors in Hollywood today but he also happens to be a huge fanboy who always gets hyped up over all things comic book-related. The Clerks director has already worked on episodes for DC shows like The Flash and Supergirl but could he helm a Marvel Cinematic Universe film? Smith has just spoken up about the opportunity of working in the MCU.

Smith was recently a virtual guest on Dan Fogler's 4d Xperience where he addressed the possibility of directing a project from a major franchise like Marvel or Star Wars. Interestingly, the Jay and Silent Bob star stated that this isn't exactly something he is interested in.

"I love Marvel, but I don't necessarily want to go play in their universe. I'm okay to watch those movies," Smith said. "I never watch one of those movies and go, 'Boy, I'd like to make one.' I always watch those movies and go like, 'Boy, I'm glad somebody made that.'"

Amazingly, Smith feels the same way about helming a Star Wars project but he'd still love to have a cameo in a Disney+ series.

"If somebody was ever gonna call me up and be like, 'We're calling from The Mandalorian,' I would hope that they're calling to be like, 'Will you be in it? On camera?'" Smith said. "I'd much rather do that than direct that sh-t. Directing that sh-t looks hard, leave that to the geniuses. But I would love to be in that f—ing show."

We can't really blame Smith since Marvel and Star Wars films can be a major challenge. On the other hand, it would be cool to see him making an appearance in The Mandalorian or the upcoming MCU shows.

Do you think Smith should work for the MCU or Star Wars? Sound off in the comments below.
