Kevin Smith On Whether Or Not He’s Directing A Marvel Or Star Wars Film

Earlier this week, word came out that pop culture connoisseur and cult director Kevin Smith had just recently met up with Disney to talk about working on a project for the Mickey Mouse House. A lot of speculation had it that Smith was actually discussing either a project for Marvel or for Lucasfilm – after all, the Clerks director was a big fan of both franchises.

Now, taking to social media, Smith has decided to weigh in on the rumors and put an end to the hopes that Smith might become part of Star Wars or the MCU. Posting on Twitter, Smith responded to a fan asking whether the director would confirm or deny the rumors that have been circulating around social media, and unfortunately, it looks like he won't be behind the camera for Marvel or Lucasfilm anytime soon.

"Easy to deny. The only @StarWars or @MarvelStudios movies I'm involved with are the ones I pay to see in theatres. Promise."

Smith didn't deny, however, being asked to speak with Disney for a secret project, so there's still that. If it isn't a Star Wars movie or Marvel movie, then it could very well be a television series. Or maybe Smith could actually be working on something for Disney. Who knows. We'll probably be given more detail about the project once Smith and Disney finally settle on their deal.
