There have been a lot of major Kevin Feige reports the past few weeks. Earlier this month, word came out that Marvel President Kevin Feige was set to develop a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. This week, news revealed that Feige had been promoted to Marvel Chief Creative Officer.

While the title might not seem as important as Marvel Studios President, becoming Marvel's Chief Creative Officer gives Feige more control of the franchise, allowing the producer to get a say when Marvel has creative ideas not only for film, but for television, animation, and comics.

According to a report by ComicBook.com, Feige's promotion comes at an important time in Marvel's development. Marvel TV might still be in place, however, Marvel Studios has now begun developing new titles for Disney's upcoming streaming site, Disney+. There's WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel to think about.

All these series are going to take place within the narrative that the Marvel Cinematic Universe established, so it's important that Feige keeps track of all these different projects.

Feige's new role as Chief Creative Officer also adds to the potential of Marvel opening up a multiverse in the franchise. Marvel is set to explore the concept with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and now, Feige can take it to a higher level, bringing it into television and into animation. The multiverse is a pretty helpful plot device that allows writers a pretty great way to continue writing stories without worrying about continuity or in-universe rules.

This means that it'll be easier for the studio to bring in characters that were challenging to bring in because of the main timeline's narrative, like the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all of Fox's other mutant heroes. Let's wait and see whether Feige puts his COO role to good use.

Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD, DVD, and Blu-Ray.
