James Gunn has been a very busy guy as of late and it's quite astonishing how he's able to juggle his Marvel and DC obligations. The director is just finishing up his duties in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before he turns his full energy and attention to the DC Universe as one of its driving forces along with co-executive Peter Safran.
A lot of people have been curious as to how Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige reacted to Gunn's appointment as DC Studios boss and now, the MCU patriarch is once again addressing the matter.
Appearing at the CCXP geek convention in Brazil (via The Direct), Feige was asked what's next for the GOTG director, to which he jokingly responded (via translation): "James Gunn just released The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. He’s finishing his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and then he has some work to do somewhere else, I don’t know where he’s going."

It's worth mentioning that Feige previously stated that he'll support whatever Gunn has in store for the DCU so there seems to be no bad blood between the two. And let's be real here, Gunn has already accomplished what he wants to do in the MCU, and seeking bigger opportunities outside Disney is quite understandable for his own career growth.
Now, whether or not he'll find his way back to the MCU in the future remains to be seen, but I doubt it'll happen now that he's got his own universe to oversee.
James Gunn's third and final Guardians of the Galaxy film hits cinemas on May 5, 2023.
