Kevin Feige: There's a Reason Why Only the Original Avengers are Left After Infinity War

The end of Avengers: Infinity War killed off half the Marvel Universe, and it included some members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. A good chunk of the heroes left were members of the original Avengers, and Kevin Feige confirms that this is true for a reason.

Talking to io9, Feige explains:

"I think for a film series that is going on 10 years and is gearing towards a conclusion with Avengers 4, which you don't usually have in these kind of movies, you can sort of do the math. And realize it's the original Avengers that are left."

Of course, we still have some non-Avengers surviving the event; we still have Rocket Raccoon, Nebula, Ant-Man, and the Wasp. There's also the fact that Captain Marvel could be joining their ranks soon.

With set photos from the movie looking to go back in time, I have a feeling that the Avengers will pull a Days of Future Past and transfer their consciousness to their 2012 bodies. Then again, I would be fine if they did some old-fashioned time travel.

The secret to enjoying any time travel movie is just not thinking about it too much.

Hopefully Avengers 4 puts a nice cap on this generation of the MCU. Hopefully Marvel Studios has more interesting stories to come.

Catch Avengers 4 in theaters May 3, 2019.
