Kevin Feige Says Yelena's Vest in Avengers: Infinity War Was Planned Early On

There is little doubt that Black Widow had some awesome Easter Eggs from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the unexpected and deeply emotional one was a gift from Yelena Belova to Natasha Romanoff.

It might look like Yelena's vest was thrown in to make a connection with Avengers: Infinity War. However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has just revealed that they have been planning to tie Yelena and Nat right from the start.

In Black Widow, Yelena wears a green and black vest which is the first thing she buys when she is free from the Red Room's mind control. Nat would later gush about the vest for having many pockets and Yelena decides to give it to her sister. It's the same vest Nat is shown wearing in the Battle of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War.

It's an awesome and surprisingly emotional Easter Egg that perfectly ties Yelena and Nat together. Amazingly, Feige has confirmed that they had planned to use the vest to tie the two characters together right from the start.

"The vest was an early idea to tie Yelena and Natasha's stories together beyond this film and create a surprisingly emotional response when viewing Infinity War again. It's a cool vest. A lot of pockets," Feige wrote.

This is great news since it means that Marvel Studios already had plans for Yelena as early as 2016. For now, we don't know what the future holds for the character but Feige has confirmed that we will eventually find out what happened to her during the Blip. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

You can see Yelena and Nat wearing the cool vest in Black Widow. The MCU movie is still screening in theaters and on Disney+.
