Kevin Feige Says Scarlet Witch Has Enough Power To Defeat Thanos In A One-On-One Fight

Though Scarlet Witch's (Elizabeth Olsen) powers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seem to be very limited, the hero's capabilities are rather extensive in Marvel's comic book universe with Scarlet Witch being capable of altering reality.

Now, it seems like Marvel might be teasing the hidden potential that Scarlet Witch actually has, because according to Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, Wanda Maximoff may be one of the very few people who could actually defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) in a one-on-one fight.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, the Marvel producer talked about Scarlet Witch and her abilities, saying that the hero could have very well defeated Thanos on her own in Endgame.

"Wanda Maximoff, who is probably near the upper echelons of power – I contend she would have taken down Thanos if he hadn't called the army, it was done," Feige told the entertainment news outlet.

But that's not all. Feige also discussed Scarlet Witch's role in the upcoming Phase 4 movie, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

"Her being the Scarlet Witch now, as Lizzie said on stage in a full sort of unabashed power-based way, coming into the Doctor Strange movie, that is two heroes coming together in a fun way."

It is pretty interesting since the two have worked closely together in the comics before. The only question now is whether Marvel is building up to the House of M story arc, a comic book event where Scarlet Witch alters reality after she learns about the death of her children. Why would Marvel hype up Scarlet Witch so much if not to work towards House of M?

Let's wait and see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for release on May 7, 2021.
