A lot of hype and excitement swirl around the air with the arrival of Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but surprisingly, such film wasn't the first one he was supposed to debut on as he was planned to appear in the first Black Panther movie.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Kevin Feige revealed that Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther and its sequel, had plans to make Namor debut in the first movie, “Ryan had a pitch for a tag at the end of Black Panther."

Feige explained how it was supposed to happen for Black Panther, “The camera would push through the palace in Wakanda, and then we’d see wet footprints leading up to the throne.”

In the same interview, Tenoch Huerta, the actor playing Namor, revealed the origins of the Sub-Mariner coming from Talocan instead of being the king of Atlantis, and that Namor is, surprisingly, a mutant in the MCU, appearing on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be dealing with the death of T'Challa after the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman who Marvel decided to keep and not recast. The Wakandans would have to move on with their lives as a new threat looms in the kingdom of Wakanda.

Ryan Coogler returns to direct Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be bannered by Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M'Baku, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will mark the debut of Namor in theaters on November 11, 2022.
