Kevin Feige Addresses The Defenders' Possible MCU Debut

The Defenders are once again one of the most discussed topics among Marvel fans now that the rights to the characters have reverted to Marvel Studios. So what are the chances that we'll see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Kevin Feige has just addressed the possibility with a hopeful tease.

There is little doubt that fans were disappointed when the Marvel Netflix shows were cancelled over two years ago. On the other hand, people believed that it was a good call considering that the characters could eventually join the MCU. Now that the rights to Jessica Jones and The Punisher have reverted to Marvel, fans are expecting the entire gang to finally appear in new films and shows.

But is Marvel Studios already planning it? Marvel boss Kevin Feige was present at the Disney+ presentation at TCA (via Den of Geek). When asked if The Defenders or ABC characters will appear in the MCU, Feige stated that "we probably could do it."

"I think a lot of that stuff comes back to us. There's always rumors online about things reverting, sometimes that's true, sometimes it's not, and I'm not exactly sure of the exact contracts. But perhaps someday," Feige said.

That's not exactly a "yes" but it's also not a "no." We're hoping that Feige and the rest of Marvel Studios would recognize the potential of bringing in Matt Murdock or Frank Castle in the MCU. For now, we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
