Katy Perry is reportedly considering leaving American Idol after feeling "misrepresented" by the show due to the controversies she has been in and the backlash she has experienced.

The "Roar" hitmaker feels like she has been "thrown under the bus" by the American Idol producers time and over again, accusing them of editing the reality series to make her appear a "nasty judge."

The Controversies Katy Perry Has Been Involved In

The 38-year-old has recently been criticized due to her comments to the contestants.

She was accused of mom-shaming Sara Beth Liebe after joking that the 25-year-old mom of three had been "laying on the table too much."

Liebe got back at Perry for her hurtful joke in a TikTok video after her audition scene aired in March.

"I think that it's hard enough to be a mom, and it's hard enough to be a woman," she said.

After that, the American Idol audience booed her after bashing another contestant, Nutsa Buzaladze, and her outfit choice.

"Nutsa, every time you take the stage it's like you glitter bomb the stage," she told the participant. "Listen, one thing that I would like to see from you is not one piece of glitter the next time. I know that is going to be hard."

From there, the booing began, which shocked her fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

"Katy got booed!" Bryan said in surprise.

"First time in six seasons," Perry responded. "What I'm saying is that I'd like you to flip the script. I think we want to be pulled in by our hearts, too. I'd love to see that and America might too."

And the controversies didn't just stop there.

Orlando Bloom's partner was accused of disrespecting a singer, Wé Ani, after her favorite contestant, Elijah McCormick, was eliminated.

Instead of giving feedback on Ani's haunting rendition of Adele's "Skyfall" and surviving the elimination, Perry said she was "shook by the results," and the song was so "dramatic."

"There's so much drama going through my body right now I need a nap," she continued. "But the truth is, America, you guys have the votes. You're the ones voting, and if you're not voting, you're not using your voice. Your faves aren't safe. So, from now on, vote for who you want to see in the Top 12."

Katy Perry Allegedly Wants to Leave American Idol

With these controversies, Perry allegedly believes the American Idol producers intentionally edit the show to make her look nasty, per Daily Mail.

So, sources told the outlet that the hitmaker has already grown tired of the backlash against her, reaching her breaking point.

Despite facing criticisms in the past, this season has been particularly tough on her.

"Katy became aware of the harsh criticism. Getting booed really upset her. She was trying to stay in her lane, do her job, and go home," the insider said.

"She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge," the tipster continued. "Katy's wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle."
