Kathleen Kennedy Possibly Confirmed Knights Of The Old Republic Adaptation is Next Star Wars Film

It seems like the Star Wars film franchise is currently on a standstill while Lucasfilm and Disney are busy putting the focus on shows like The Mandalorian, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and the Clone Wars spin-off. But is it possible that the studios are already quietly developing the next big Star Wars movie? There are speculations that the adaptation of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is still moving forward and could be announced soon.

The tease comes from Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy when she spoke to The Wrap about the future of Star Wars. During the interview, Kennedy confirmed that the studios are considering all the available options when it comes to moving forward with the franchise.

"Stories have been told within this universe over the last 40-odd years, and there's now the realization that this is a mythology that actually spans about 25,000 years," Kennedy said.

Not surprisingly, fans have wondered if Kennedy is referring to Knights of the Old Republic, which takes place thousands of years before the events in the Star Wars prequel films. After all, it was confirmed last year that Altered Carbon creator Laeta Kalogridis will be writing the screenplay for the KOTOR adaptation.

Unfortunately, there haven't been any updates about the project but there is a huge possibility that Lucasfilm and Disney will make an announcement soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
