Katee Sackhoff Offers New Insights Into Bo-Katan's Thought Process In The Mandalorian

When the focus shifted from Din Djarin and Grogu to Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian season 3, some fans did not find it promising. But even if they deny it, the Mandalorian human princess is worth the attention.

One of The Mandalorian's most talked-about moments was when Bo-Katan Kryze discovered a Mythosaur beneath Mandalore's Living Waters.

The warrior hid from Din Djarin about what she'd seen but later confessed to The Armorer, who believed they were the only ones who were aware of the presence of the beast.

Sitting down on the Steve Varley Show, Katee Sackhoff digs deep into why her character decided to keep what she'd seen to herself.

“Well, this is a person who did not take the legends literally. She took them metaphorically, you know? She came out of that water seeing the symbol of her people that she didn’t ever dream existed.” explained Sackhoff.

She continued, “I think she thinks she’s crazy. I think she’s probably thinking, 'What the hell did I see?’ It was also a stressful situation. She could have imagined that. And I don’t think, at this moment, she trusts Mando enough to emotionally let her guard down.

Given that Bo-Katan is heavily featured in the Star Wars show, fans believed that it was also only a matter of time before her backstory was showcased in The Mandalorian.

The warrior princess had a sister named Satine Kryze, who was first introduced in Season 2 of the Clone Wars animated series. The two do not have a stable sibling relationship.

Satine was the Duchess of Kalevala and a Mandalorian. She ran a peace movement, hoping to separate her people from their warrior, violent past, which Bo-Katan did not agree with.

Despite Satine’s demise in the animated saga, fans are still hoping she will have a live-action counterpart, and Sackhoff named Cate Blanchett as her top choice for the role.

“I’m sure Dave [Filoni] has all the answers to all of this stuff. The cool thing about Filoni is that he already has all the answers to all of this stuff. It’s just a matter of whether or not I get to be privy to it or not… I wish that we could talk about Satine. I think Cate Blanchett would be amazing.” said Sackhoff.

All three seasons of The Mandalorian are streaming on Disney+.
