Kate Middleton Reportedly Grimaced After Meghan Markle Borrowed Her Lip Gloss
In an extract of Spare obtained by Page Six, Prince Harry recalled the time he and his wife were to join Prince William and Kate Middleton for their first joint engagement as fab four. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince and Princess of Wales put on a united front at the Royal Foundation Forum in 2018, months before Prince Harry and Markle's royal wedding.
According to Prince Harry, the former Suits star borrowed Middleton's lip gloss because she forgot hers, which he described as an "American thing." He shared some details about how Prince William's wife reportedly reacted.
"Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube," Prince Harry wrote. "Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced."
He added that they could have laughed about it. However, the press "sensed" it was "something bigger."

Prince Harry Claims Kate Middleton Is 'On Edge' After Meghan Markle Joined The Royal Family
Kate Middle and Meghan Markle are about the same age, and both have great fashion sense, so they are pitted against each other when the latter joined the firm. In Prince Harry's own words, the future queen consort must have been "on edge" with his wife around because she was now "going to be compared to, and forced to compete with, Meg."
However, not everyone might agree with Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex's biographer, Angela Levin, who worked closely with him for years when she wrote Harry: A Biography of a Prince, said he had changed after meeting Markle. Levin said the Sussex couple is jealous of the Princess of Wales.

"I'm sure that Harry and Meghan are very jealous, particularly of Catherine, because she looks stunning in anything she wears. If you saw her last night in this green dress, and going along with feeling that it's looking after the planet, she had rented it," Levin said.
"She looks stunning in it, and you think, well done, whereas Meghan doesn't quite get it right. ... Dresses are not the important part of it, but I think Meghan's always got to win. Whatever she's doing, she's got to win."
Prince Harry's book Spare will hit shelves on Tuesday.
