Kate Middleton looked gorgeous in her recent engagements with Prince William. However, Meghan Markle's fans disapproved of her style because she allegedly copied the Duchess of Sussex due to their similar outfits.

Kate Middleton Allegedly Dressed Like Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Cambridge was criticized for allegedly copying the Duchess of Sussex's style. On Thursday, Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire for their second engagement of the year.

Middleton arrived rocking a camel coat that is similar to what Markle wore when she made her first appearance at Canada House in London in 2020.

Several netizens also pointed out that her knee-length teal coat the previous day for her first engagement was similar to Markle's blue Smythe coat when she attended an event to promote Together: Our Community Cookbook.

"Imagine bullying and allowing the press to bully your sister-in-law and then copying her whole wardrobe? Kate Middleton is nothing better than an unoriginal high school b--ch. She doesn’t have an original bone in her body. #KopyKate #DupliKate #TheOriginalDianaCosplayer," a Sussex supporter tweeted.

"Kopykeen has no shame. She can kopykate Meghan’s style but can’t duplicate her impact or popularity," another added.

"KopyKate strikes again! It's true though, imitation is the best form of flattery," another wrote with laughing emoji.

Kate Middleton Is The Most Influential Royal Fashion Icon

Although many slammed Kate Middleton for allegedly copying Meghan Markle, her fans argued that she had always dressed nicely even before the former Suits star joined the royal fold.

Also, the camel coat that Middleton wore in her recent engagement was recycled. The duchess has been recycling outfits over the years and the Queen is a fan of her style according to insiders, Marie Claire reported.

"The duchess is aware people are struggling in the current economic climate," a friend of Middleton said. "Changing outfits for every engagement is simply not practical or affordable and would send the wrong message."

The Fashion Retail Academy in London also did a survey about royals' fashion in 2020 and the results were published in Tatler. The majority preferred Middleton's style over Markle's. The future queen consort's style "proved popular across a spread of age demographics," making Middleton the most influential royal fashion icon.

"By embracing the fashion world and Princess Diana's often daring style, Kate has learned how to balance trends with tradition, and it's nice to see that she is keeping tradition alive," said Lee Luca, the principal and CEO of the Fashion Retail Academy (via Insider ). "Meghan may have commanded more column inches recently but it is Kate who has emerged as the royal leading the fashion stakes by a country mile."

Middleton also beat Markle in 2018 as a top royal style influencer. According to Rob Hattrell, U.K. vice president of eBay, although Markle was the focus of fashion pages, shoppers are after Middleton's distinctive style.
