Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle couldn't be more different from one another, not only in terms of their personalities and traits but also when it comes to their mindsets as members of the royal family.

In his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, royal author Tom Bower claimed that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle had very different approaches to their royal life.

Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle Had Different Approaches To Their Royal Life?

The former decided to take the time to learn the royal ropes, and she did it for 10 to 12 years. Her sister-in-law, on the other hand, was determined to hit the ground running even if she still didn't know how the royal family operated.

"Kate had become irritated by her neighbor. Unlike her own cautious approach to 'learn the ropes' before engaging in royal duties, Meghan was running — but what was her destination? And who was she running with? Did she realize that the Royal Family ran together under the monarch, not as competitive individuals?" Bower said (via Mirror UK).

Kate Middleton Took All The Time That She Needed To Learn The Royal Ropes, Source Says

Royal author Andrew Morton echoed Bower's sentiments by saying that learning the royal ropes takes time. And Middleton evidently took all the time that she needed to learn everything about the royal family, as well as her royal duties.

"I realized after watching Catherine for all these years that it takes a long, long time to really understand what it is like to be royal. Catherine Middleton has spent ten, or twelve years coming to terms with it. So did Sophie Rhys-Jones and she's got a much lower profile - or did. It just takes a long time to absorb yourself into it," he said.

Meghan Markle Should've Stayed Longer With The Royal Family?

Morton also suggested that Markle had all the makings of a senior working royal because she excelled at giving speeches after overcoming her fears of public speaking. But the tragedy was that she and her husband did not wait long enough until they could adjust to the demands of the job.

"Meghan was quite a shy person, so making speeches and being in public was something of an ordeal but I think she's overcome that. She reminds me so much of Diana. She struggled for a few years to come to terms with what it is like to be a princess. The great tragedy, I think, is that Meghan and Harry didn't give it long enough to see whether they could give it a go. They were on the out almost before the wedding music had finished. Meghan is a natural… she had the great possibility of using her talent and her position to make a genuine change in the world. I don't think she's going to make such a change living in Montecito," Morton said.

After quitting her royal duties, Markle and Prince Harry relocated to the United States, where they are trying to make a name for themselves.
