Remember that light-hearted scene in Avengers: Endgame where Tony Stark managed to convince Nebula to have a little fun? Karen Gillan has just confirmed that her character easily defeated Iron Man because the whole thing was actually improvised.
Gillan is currently promoting her new film Jumanji: The Next Level but she also fondly looked back at the time when she was working on Endgame. The former Doctor Who star revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she and Downey improvised the paper football scene and believes that she won against the Dolittle actor.
"Well, I think it was me because that scene was improvised. And I won," Gillan laughed.
The scene was easily one of the most memorable moments considering that the always serious Nebula briefly cracked a smile as she and Tony played as they drifted around in space in the Benatar. It's awesome to know that the sequence was only improvised but still managed to show the softer side of Nebula.
Gillan also shared some interesting new details about her character's development in the new Jumanji film. According to Gillan, she learned to use nunchucks as one of Ruby Roundhouse's new specialties in the movie.
"I'm not sure I was quite Tom Cruise level, but I did the whole nunchuck fight for sure," she said. "I had nunchucks on me on set every day so that I could practice in between other scenes. I'm pretty sure a few people got hurt in my practicing process. I did the whole thing by the end."
It's exciting to know that Ruby is getting yet another awesome upgrade. With that in mind, we can't wait to see Gillan in action in The Next Level.
Jumanji: The Next Level will premiere on December 13.
