Kang? Black Knight? Does This Comic Reprint Reveal Spoilers For Avengers: Endgame?

Avengers: Endgame is coming out real soon and Marvel is going to advertise the hell out of it, with the film being a culmination of everything the MCU has built up thus far. Naturally, Marvel is reprinting some older comics that inspired the film and is making new series' that may get fans interested in the medium. As part of the advertising, Marvel is reprinting several comic issues for $0.99 that are somewhat related to the movie, including an old Avengers comic literally titled Endgame.

Thanks to the April solicitations of Marvel (via ScreenRant), one of the True Believers reprints coming out that month is Avengers #71. Released back in 1969, the comic is titled Endgame and shows how obscure character Black Knight joined the superhero team.

Endgame, the comic book not the movie, was the second part of a storyline that had Kang the Conqueror and The Grandmaster taking each other on in a game of universal chess, using the Avengers and Squadron Sinister as their pawns. It had elements of time travel, as the comic had some members of the time go to the past and fight Captain America's old team The Invaders.

Kang seemingly kills The Avengers afterward but Black Knight is there to save the day. They end up defeating Kang and add Black Knight to the Avengers roster.

So will Kang the Conqueror and Black Knight going to be in the movie? Kang is well-known for his time travel shenanigans and is even feuding with his younger self who doesn't want to be evil. It would be awesome seeing him get involved somehow, though it might make an already complicated story even more convoluted.

We'll have to wait and see.

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26.
