Tyvar Kell is one of the two newly-introduced planeswalkers in Kaldheim (the other one is Niko Aris). Last month, Wizards shared the background story of Tyvar Kell.

Starting at 3 loyalty and costing four mana to cast, Tyvar Kell has the static ability that gives all Elves the activated ability to add one black mana. +1 lets you put a +1+1 counter to up to one target Elf, untaps it, and it gains deathtouch until end of turn.

Its second ability lets you create a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token for 0 loyalty.

Its ultimate ability, which requires six loyalty, gives you an emblem with "Whenever you cast an Elf spell, it gains haste until end of turn and you draw two cards."

This new planeswalker card definitely fits green (or green and black) Elf decks that can help ramp up the mana to cast more Elf creatures while being able to make them stronger with +1+1 counter boosts and deathtouch counter. Its ultimate can get the elf ball rolling by giving you card advantage when you play Elf spells.

The other planeswalker cards revealed for Kaldheim are Niko Aris, Kaya the Inexorable, and Tibalt, Cosmic Impostor.
