Kaldheim Preview Season Begins: New Magic: The Gathering Planeswalkers, Art & More Revealed

Wizards of the Coast is kicking off the traditional Winter set preview season a little earlier this year as the company reveals new information and visuals for the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired set, Kaldheim.

The extended preview season for Kaldheim begins this week, so expect Wizards to introduce Magic's Viking world, the characters, art previews, and maybe some brand new Magic cards before the official beginning of previews on Jan. 7.

Wizards revealed two new characters featured in Kaldheim: Niko Aris and Tyvar Kell.

Niko Aris is a non-binary planeswalker originally from Theros. Aris defied Klothys, causing a conflict that resulted in their spark igniting.

Tyvar Kell is the elf-King Harald's younger brother who's described to be hot-headed and boastful.

Kaya and Tibalt are also confirmed to return to the lore of Kaldheim.

Wizards officially revealed the packaging for Kaldheim products including Draft Booster, Collector Booster, Set Booster, Themed Booster, and Bundle.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021, and it will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages.
