Justice League: Zack Snyder Teases Bone-Chilling New Look for Jared Leto's Joker

DC fans had high hopes for Jared Leto's take on the Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad but after seeing the divisive film, it's safe to say that majority of the fandom wasn't pleased with his version. A lot of it stems from director David Ayer's "questionable" character design choice for the Clown Prince of Crime.

In the film, Mistah J was portrayed more as a mob boss and a gangster, and his face was covered with tattoos, something a lot of fans weren't expecting to see. It was daring for sure but nothing about Leto's version screamed classic Joker and hardcore Batman fans almost felt alienated by him.

Now, Zack Snyder seems to be changing all that and by the looks of things, he's set to give the iconic DC villain the redemption arc he so rightfully deserves. And just when you thought Jared's days as the Joker were over, it was confirmed last year that Leto officially joined the Snyder Cut to reprise the role.

As it stands, we still know very little about his involvement in the project which comes as a huge surprise to a lot of people since he wasn't originally part of 2017's theatrical version. Now, Snyder is teasing what Mistah J could look like in the project. Posting a monochrome image on his Vero page, Snyder gave fans their first taste of the villain and it's bone-chilling. Check it out here:

The image is out of focus but if you'll take a closer look, it seems like Snyder got rid of Joker's controversial tattoos and even gave the character longer hair. I don't know about you but this is getting me really excited for what's about to go down. I'm really hopeful that the Snyder Cut turns out to be a success because what would the DCEU be without the Justice League, right?

The Snyder Cut of Justice League hits HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
