Before he was murdering millions as Ozymandias in Watchmen, Jeremy Irons had played the part of Bruce Wayne's sarcastic butler Alfred Pennyworth in Batman v Superman. While we don't have any update from WB about the Snyder Cut of Justice League yet, Zack Snyder has shared a shot of Alfred from his cut of the film.
Check it out:
He also posted it with the caption: Alfred working at the abandon Wayne aerospace hanger had to move workshop from Batcave as he and Bruce try and get Flying fox to work no room in the cave for such a big aircraft
Personally, I'm a fan of Snyder's work in the DCEU, and one of his best casting decisions was definitely Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Though Michael Caine had done an awesome job with The Dark Knight trilogy, I kind of love how Irons' Alfred has his sarcasm cranked up to eleven.
We don't know when Irons would ever come back as the character, but for now it looks like his days of looking after the Batman are done. We know that Andy Serkis has been cast as the new Alfred for Matt Reeves' Batman movie. We can only hope that WB eventually decides to come back to the established Snyder-Verse soon since they're keeping several actors like Ezra Miller, Gal Gadot, and Jason Momoa.
The Snyder Cut of Justice League has not been officially announced, but you can catch The Batman in theaters June 25, 2021. The next film in the DCEU timeline is Birds of Prey which hits theaters Feb. 7.
