Justice League Star Harry Lennix Confirms Martian Manhunter Debut in Zack Snyder Cut

It looks like the Justice League is adding another founding member in Zack Snyder's director's cut. Man of Steel star Harry Lennix has just confirmed that he will return in the DC Extended Universe flick and this time, he's going to be revealed as Martian Manhunter.

Fans have long speculated about Lennix's role in the DCEU. Although the character was initially introduced as General Swanwick in Man of Steel, people were expecting him to eventually reveal his true identity in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Sadly, this never happened but Lennix assured Collider that Swanwick's true self will be unveiled in the Snyder Cut.

Interestingly, Lennix stated that he "never saw the script" when he was asked to appear in Justice League.

"I didn't get a chance to read the script, because... they were still being developed, and they keep all of that under lock and key," he said. This could be in line with how the film was changed from Snyder's original vision and led to Swanwick being written off the movie. In addition to that, Lennix's schedule with The Blacklist didn't give him enough time to work on the DCEU flick.

Luckily, things have changed since then and Lennix even confirmed the news on his official Twitter account.

"It's going to be great to be up there with Batman and Superman and my pals," Lennix said. "Yeah, I'm once again as a kid at a candy store."

We're loving the idea that Martian Manhunter will finally join the Justice League. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the Snyder Cut this year.

Zack Snyder's Justice League has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to premiere on HBO Max in 2021.
